SilverStone has a wide variety of case models for a broad range of uses. The premium tower Temjin series is the latest one to see an update in the form of the TJ08-E. While the name might look familiar, this is not the TJ08 from five years ago. The TJ08-E (Evolution) is just what the name suggests, as SilverStone has revisited this model to use current technology to improve on this popular enclosure. The original TJ08 has always been a great Micro ATX case with cooling potential that rivaled full tower cases. The premium look and dual 120mm fans made that model stand out from its peers. The Temjin series has always been about luxurious styling and incredible performance and this new model follows that standard.

Comparing the original to the TJ08-E, you can definitely tell the two are from the same family. The similarities are mostly external however, as the interior has been completely overhauled to keep up with the times. At 210mm(W) x 374mm(H) x 385mm(D), the TJ08-E is a slightly shorter than its predecessor, but makes up for it by being slightly wider and longer in depth. Being wider isn’t necessarily a bad thing as it usually means more cable routing room behind the motherboard tray. Motherboard support has been increased to include Micro ATX, Mini-DTX, Mini-ITX and storage has also been improved to allow for up to five 3.5″ drives and one 2.5″ drive. Expansion card support has also been improved to allow for cards up to 13.25″ in length. Other notable improvements are USB 3.0 support for the front panel connectors (backwards compatible with the included adapter) and all black painted interior. The TJ08-E is currently only available in the black version that we are reviewing today. Let’s check it out in greater detail.
