SilverStone ST50F-P Strider Plus Series 500W Modular Power Supply

st50f-p-3-4-view

Today we’re taking a look at one of SilverStone’s newest additions to their Strider Plus series power supplies, the ST50F-P. Do not confuse this with SilverStone’s ST50F model PSU. Both models are 500W, but the new ST50F-P has a fully modular cable design with a single 34A +12V rail. This one is also a member of the Plus Series, which are said to be more efficient than previous Strider models from SilverStone. This model is 80 PLUS Bronze rated with active PFC . The single 18dBA 120mm fan cools the PSU quietly and efficiently. Although the ST50F-P is the lowest powered model in the Plus Series so far, it is also the smallest (140 mm deep) allowing it to fit easier into smaller cases. 500W is more than enough to power a low to mid-range PC, and the ST50F-P seems ideal for Small Form Factor, Micro-ATX and HTPC builds. Let’s check it out in more detail. For full specs, visit the product page at SilverStone’s website.

New ML03 HTPC case from SilverStone to land this month

ml03-3-4

SilverStone Technology is definitely gearing up for the release of a few new computer cases very soon. Some of these prototypes were seen earlier this year at the Computex show in Taipei. When we asked them for a time frame, SilverStone responded with some specs for a case set to be released at the end of this month. The ML03 is the latest in the Milo Series of slim size HTPC cases. The case will support a full size optical drive, full size ATX PSU’s, four expansion slots, and multiple hard drives. It will also feature two USB 3.0 ports in the front that can connected to supported motherboards with a pass through cable. We are looking forward to testing this case and will have a full review right here as soon as it’s out. Other cases coming soon are the Fortress 3 (FT03), Raven 3 (RV03) and possibly a new addition to the Temjin Series as well. Check back soon!
